FROM 2017:

This painting course was the perfect artistic escape for both beginners and more experienced artists looking for fresh inspiration in a beautiful setting. Under Carole's expert and sympathetic tuition, the group was able to draw and paint at their own pace throughout the week whilst experiencing excellent food and first class accommodation in this picturesque area of Scotland.

Landscapes in Pastels and WatercoloursThis 6 day course was the perfect artistic escape for both beginners and more experienced artists looking for fresh inspiration in a beautiful setting. At Manzac you can relax or paint as much or as little as you like, whilst experiencing excellent food, wine and local French culture.

Daily Timetable

Our first day at Manzac is a “warm up day”. We get used to working with, perhaps, new materials, using sketchbooks, doing simple exercises or maybe painting outside ”en plein air” for the first time. It’s a relaxed day, getting to know one other and a giving you a chance to settle in.

Subsequent days start with “wheels up” at 9.30 and a short drive to our chosen location. Carole will show you round, pointing out possible views or painting subjects, and then, throughout the day, visit each person in turn, giving tuition on an individual basis or a group demonstration.

At midday, Giles and Louise bring us a delicious picnic, with a glass of wine. We continue painting until approximately 4pm, when we return to Manzac to paint the wonderful views, catch up in the spacious new studio, or head for the pool for a swim and siesta! Before dinner, we review the day’s achievements over a glass of wine with supper being served around 8pm.

Non painting partners are welcome to accompany us to the painting locations.
